About the Role

We're looking for a Director of Corporate Relations to own Treasury Wine Estates’ enterprise narrative, lead our enterprise public affairs and strategic communications function, and build stakeholder confidence across every market in which we operate.

Reporting to the Chief Legal & Corporate Relations Officer, and partnering closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, this role sits at the centre of government and industry relations, strategic communications, media, crisis management and corporate reporting. You will lead a team of 11 across Australia, the U.S. and China, balancing global consistency with regional relevance to protect and strengthen TWE’s reputation and license to operation.
TWE is building a high-performance culture grounded in clear priorities, visible accountability, commercial focus and candid communication. This role will help shape and model that culture, both through the enterprise narrative and through how the Corporate Relations function itself operates.

This is a Melbourne-based role with a global remit.

Key Responsibilities
• Own and shape TWE’s enterprise narrative: one coherent corporate story, consistently deployed across investors, media, industry, government, customers, consumers and employees, working with executives, Investor Relations and Strategy to ensure the corporate story and financial narrative move as one.
• Serve as the CEO’s communications partner, channelling the CEO’s voice authentically and ensuring executive communications reinforce the enterprise narrative.
• Develop and execute an integrated Corporate Relations strategy and framework aligned to TWE’s business strategy, growth priorities and risk profile.
• Lead enterprise public affairs, including government relations, trade policy and industry engagement, converting relationships into tangible commercial outcomes and protecting and growing market access across key regions.
• Own enterprise strategy for strategic communications and media relations, including business media, trade media, and owned media and content (digital channels, social platforms, podcasts and executive content).
• Lead enterprise internal communications in partnership with People & Culture, ensuring employees across all regions receive clear, timely communications that reinforce TWE’s strategy, culture and performance narrative.
• Own accountability for TWE’s corporate reporting suite, including the Annual Report, sustainability reporting, half-year and full-year results communications and other periodic disclosures, in partnership with Investor Relations and Company Secretary.
• Own the enterprise crisis communications framework and committee governance, including escalation protocols, rapid-response playbooks and crisis simulation exercises, and lead enterprise responses to significant reputational events.
• Counsel executives on complex external, reputational, policy and stakeholder matters.
• Champion and govern AI adoption across the Corporate Relations function, building the communications infrastructure (including AI agents for media monitoring, briefing generation and content automation) and governance guardrails that enable a leaner team to operate at enterprise scale.
• Establish metrics and reporting that demonstrate Corporate Relations’ impact, risk management and contribution to business outcomes, with governance reporting to the ELT and Board.
• Lead and develop a globally dispersed Corporate Relations function, building capability, setting clear accountabilities and decision rights, and fostering a high-performing, commercially focused team culture.

About you
You are a strategic storyteller with commercial instincts and senior stakeholder credibility. You are a message-maker, not a message-taker: equally comfortable building a corporate narrative, advising executives, converting a government relationship into market access, and leading a team through a reputational crisis. You bring:

• Significant senior leadership experience in public affairs, government relations, strategic communications, reputation management or corporate relations within a complex, global or publicly listed organisation.
• A proven track record as a trusted adviser to senior executives on high-profile, sensitive or complex issues.
• Strong government, regulatory or stakeholder engagement experience, with the ability to navigate trade policy, regulatory dynamics and geopolitical complexity across multiple markets.
• Commercial and financial acumen: understanding of P&L dynamics, investor expectations and how communications contribute to enterprise value.
• Outstanding narrative and storytelling capability, with the ability to craft and sustain a compelling enterprise story across diverse audiences and channels.
• Deep understanding of media, digital and AI platforms and how they interact to shape public perception, with a willingness to lead technology-enabled transformation within the function.
• Strong crisis, issues and reputation management capability, with calm judgement under pressure.
• A track record of setting clear priorities, owning outcomes, and creating the conditions for teams to perform at their best.
• A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build credibility and influence across a matrixed, global organisation.
• A degree in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, Business, Law, Corporate Affairs or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Relevant industry, public affairs or governance memberships will be well regarded.
