About the role

The Key Account Executive, Japan is responsible for supporting the growth and management of key customer accounts within the Japan market. This role assists in building strong partnerships with retailers and distributors, ensuring the successful execution of sales plans, trade activations, and promotional programs. The position plays a critical role in optimizing in-store execution, managing order processes, and delivering outstanding customer service, contributing to the achievement of sales and distribution targets in line with business objectives for the Japan market.

  • Support the Country Manager in managing relationships with key customers and distributors, ensuring alignment with joint business plans and promotional calendars.
  • Assist in the development and execution of trade programs and promotional activities, including implementation at point of sale.
  • Monitor account performance, analyzing sales data, and preparing regular reports on KPIs to identify gaps and opportunities for growth.
  • Manage order processing and pricing accuracy, ensuring compliance with commercial policies and timelines.
  • Coordinate with marketing and activation teams for the timely rollout of campaigns and activations.
  • Handle day-to-day customer inquiries and resolve operational issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Support preparation of business reviews, presentations, and trade negotiations in collaboration with the Country Manager.
  • Demonstrates accountability and strong organizational skills in managing multiple tasks.
  • Maintains clear and professional communication to achieve alignment internally and externally.
  • Acts as a reliable team player, supporting strategic priorities and customer commitments.

About you

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2- 4 years of experience in sales or key account management roles, preferably within FMCG or beverage industries.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with commercial systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Wine / drinks Industry experience
  • WSET certification (Level 2 or higher) preferred.
  • Good English skills
