Laboratory Technician
Barossa Winery | Full Time
An exciting opportunity is available for a Laboratory Technician to join our Barossa Winery team. Reporting to the Lab lead you will play a critical role in supporting wine quality through the delivery of accurate, timely and efficient laboratory services.
This role is ideal for someone with laboratory experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and has a strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement.
About the Role
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine chemical and microbiological analyses, maintaining laboratory equipment and calibration systems, and ensuring accurate analytical results that support winery operations and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine laboratory testing and analysis on juice, wine and production samples.
Conduct microbiological testing and monitoring activities.
Maintain laboratory equipment, calibration schedules and records.
Ensure accurate recording and reporting of laboratory results.
Manage sample collection, preparation and retention processes.
Support quality assurance activities, audits and compliance requirements.
Assist with maintaining laboratory consumables and inventory levels.
Contribute to the review and improvement of laboratory procedures and systems.
Maintain safe work practices and uphold quality standards at all times .
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous laboratory experience, preferably within the wine, food or beverage industry.
Qualifications in Science, Food Technology, Wine Science or a related discipline.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
