About the role
The Sales Manager - North and Northeast Thailand (Based in Chiang Mai) is responsible for delivering sustainable sales growth, distribution expansion, share key insights/market intelligence and achieve market share gains across all Route-To-Market in the Northern and Northeastern territory of Thailand.
The role leads the development and execution of commercial plans through distributor partners and direct engagement with key customers, ensuring TWE's portfolio achieves superior availability, visibility, and brand advocacy across all relevant channels. The incumbent will provide market intelligence, identify growth opportunities, and drive execution excellence to achieve or exceed annual sales, profit, and distribution objectives.
Commercial Performance & Territory Management
Deliver annual sales, depletion, distribution, and market share targets for the assigned territory.
Develop and execute territory business plans aligned with TWE's commercial strategy and growth objectives.
Manage sales forecasting, pipeline planning, and monthly performance reviews.
Track business performance against budget and proactively implement corrective actions where required.
Identify new business opportunities, emerging channels, and untapped geographical markets to accelerate growth.
Ensure optimal assortment, pricing, and distribution of priority brands across the territory.
Manage distributor execution to ensure commercial objectives are consistently achieved.
Distributor & Customer Management (Play a leading role in ensuring that the customers achieve the goal objectives agreed with TWE):
- Win the heart and soul of our customers by being present, by inspiring them about our brands, by giving support and by improving capability
- Develop strong relationships with distributor management teams and frontline sales personnel.
- Lead Joint Business Planning (JBP) goals with distributors and key customers.
- Establish clear sales, distribution, and execution objectives and monitor progress regularly.
- Conduct regular business reviews with distributors and key accounts.
- Influence distributor resource allocation to maximize TWE brand growth and market penetration.
- Develop strategic relationships with key on-trade, off-trade, and regional customers.
- Ensure distributors and customers execute agreed promotional and activation programs effectively.
Brand Activation (Play a leading role in ensuring brand presence in outlets):
Work on the promotional calendar of activities with the customers to ensure proper execution.
Ensure best in class execution and significantly ramp up our in-store availability and presence across all domestic channels and use shopper insights where relevant to drive category captaincy.
Lead in markets, ahead of competitors and ensure proper execution of events and activities as well as driving the marketing agenda to increase brand awareness and brand engagement with consumers
Competitors’ Analysis (Provide market intelligence):
Gather and input competitor intelligence
Pricing analysis of competitors’ products and ensure that we have the right positioning in the market for our brands
Provide information on any gaps in the market
Identify opportunities in the market to growing the TWE portfolio and recommending investment needs for future growth as appropriate.
Presentation and communication of key issues impacting on the business
About you
Degree or diploma in Business, Economics or similar discipline
In-depth understanding of the Thailand wine and spirit market
Minimum 5-8 years of sales experience alcoholic beverages, wine & spirits, premium consumer goods, or related industries.
Proven experience managing distributors and indirect sales channels.
Demonstrated success in achieving sales and distribution growth targets.
Experience in key account management and commercial negotiations.
Strong understanding of Thailand's on-trade and off-trade channels.
Experience in territory management across multiple provinces.
Computer Literacy - Word, Excel, PowerPoint & email
Strong negotiation skills
Good English skill
